Licensing fees for reproduction

Get an idea of costs for various different reproduction purposes. Fees reflect how and where the work will be used.

About licensing fees

Licensing fees are structured around the intended use – for example, TV, magazine or e-book. An additional factor is commerciality – does it help the client generate a profit? We’ve factored these considerations into our copyright licensing fees.

DACS has the expertise to negotiate the right fee for our members. Contact the DACS Licensing team with your requirements, to set up an licensing agreement.

Why you need a licence to reproduce images

Copyright licensing enables authorised reproduction of works. The artist will generally hold the copyright for their work, and permission is needed to clear any usage with them. Licensing helps artists generate income from their work. They may restrict usage to certain purposes.

DACS liaises with artists and copyright holders on your behalf and sets up a licence, detailing rates for the image uses they permit.
