DACS CEO Christian Zimmermann shares AI and copyright expertise at International Authors Forum AGM 2025
DACS was pleased to participate in the International Authors Forum (IAF) Annual General Meeting held on 11-12 March at the Maison de la Poesie in Paris.
DACS CEO Christian Zimmermann featured as a key speaker on the panel "Global Perspectives on AI Regulations and Copyright," where he shared insights from DACS' extensive advocacy work on AI developments and visual creators works, particularly highlighting the organisation's recent submission to the UK government's AI and copyright consultation.
Speaking alongside representatives from SOFIA, IFRRO, and The Writers' Union of Canada, Zimmermann emphasised DACS' commitment to representing UK visual artists in the ongoing dialogue around AI development and creative rights protection.
The two-day event brought together key figures from authors' organisations worldwide, with additional panels exploring second-hand book markets and AI licensing models. DACS continues to advocate for frameworks that ensure visual artists maintain control over their works while establishing fair remuneration systems as AI technology evolves.
