Today DACS is celebrating British IP Day and the huge contribution that Intellectual Property (IP) and copyright makes to the UK, culturally and economically.

Today marks a year since DACS alongside a coalition of arts organisations, launched a campaign for the Smart Fund which could generate between £250-300 million a year to better support visual artists and the wider cultural industries.

DACS was pleased to contribute to the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) report on ‘The impact of digital technology on arts and culture in the UK’ that provides an overview of the impact of digital technology on the arts and culture sector in the UK.

DACS publishes a new report on artists’ experiences of Artificial Intelligence in response to a consultation from government

The UK Intellectual Property Office has been consulting with the public on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and copyright laws intersect. As part of the national strategy on AI to boost AI industries in the UK, the IPO considered whether exceptions to copyright law need to be extended, or if copyright can be licensed by AI industries.
